Kennedy Space Center
Kennedy Space Center was created and evolved to meet the needs of America’s manned space program in competition with the Soviet Union. The announcement of the manned lunar program by President John F. Kennedy led to an expansion of operations from the Cape to adjacent Merritt Island. NASA began acquisition in 1962.
Only a short drive from Orlando’s theme parks and attractions, NASA Kennedy Space Center’s launch headquarters is an “Out of this World” experience.
